Their generosity makes this possible
Without our conference sponsors HIT Hot Topics wouldn’t be possible; their support helps us to fund the venue, speakers and refreshments, plus many aspects of running an event that most people never even think about. Please take some time to look through their websites and come and chat with them on the day.

Release

Release

Release is the national centre of expertise on drugs and drug laws, providing free non-judgmental, specialist advice and information to the public and professionals. The organisation also campaigns for changes to the UK’s drug laws to bring about a fairer, more compassionate and evidence-based framework to address drug use in our society.

Anyone’s Child

Anyone’s Child: Families for Safer Drug Control is an international network of families whose lives have been wrecked by current drug laws and are now campaigning to change them. No one doubts that drugs can be dangerous – that’s why we should do all we can to prevent children and young people from taking them. But banning drugs and criminalising those who get involved with them causes even more harm.

Support. Don't Punish

Support. Don’t Punish

Support. Don’t Punish is a global advocacy campaign calling for better drug policies that prioritise public health and human rights. The campaign aims to promote drug policy reform, and to change laws and policies which impede access to harm reduction interventions.

LEAP UK

Law Enforcement Action Partnership – LEAP UK – is an organisation composed of police and military personnel who have had careers in drug enforcement and the criminal justice system. Members include undercover operatives, Chief Constables, PCs, and military personnel who had tours of duty in Afghanistan. They seek decriminalisation and de-stigmatisation of people who use drugs, legal markets to cannabis and therapeutic psychedelics, heroin assisted treatments, and for the police service to carry naloxone as standard. We must use drug policy reforms as a way to be smart in tackling organised crime groups. LEAP UK also has a team of civilians who have lived-experience in the drugs field, allowing for a broad range of influence; it’s time we put real people and real lives at the heart of drug policy.

The Philosophy of Harm Reduction

The Philosophy of Harm Reduction

Many of us came to harm reduction out of necessity, idealism, or both. We don’t kid ourselves that the real work of harm reduction is performed through the daily struggle of individuals and communities. At the same time, we believe that exploring the philosophical foundations of harm reduction can benefit the movement and the lives of people. The Philosophy of Harm Reduction is an oppotunity to discuss, describe, and imagine this philosophy.
